Waz been up lately.....

Pic #1--->Cotton Candy, anyone? I've started spinning this - it's on the spindle as we speak.

Pic #2---->I dyed this for Iris. Maybe she'll email me her address, maybe.

Pic #3----->I just finished these for Mom. Her second pair. Maybe I'll remember when I make a women's medium, it's not going to fit a man's size 12. Yes, I have big feet. Koigu yarn, the 2x2 ribbed pattern from the Cat Bordhi book "Socks Soar..." Truthfully, NO socks soar fast enough for me.

Pic #4----->This is extra fine merino 80's from The Yarn Tree. I died it with Jacquard in "Ecru". It's like the poor-man's cashmere, I swear.

So that's why they call them butterflies

Because they can fly. Made my day, this one.Imgp0316

I'm all wound up

In the spirit of things spinning round and round and round....Skein has some playmates running around. She's starting to play favorites. Not good.

The first one is called "Berhan"

The second one is called ....ahem... "Hot Bitch"

Yeah, it's not really called that, but I didn't know what else to say. It's very punk-rocky. So maybe the name should be "Very Punk Rocky."

All things squishy

I'm hopelessy addicted to spinning again. I love it. Always have. I recently came across some yarn called "Aida" from Bouton D'Or. It's a two ply yarn, loosely spun, with contrasting colors in each ply. Gorgeous stuff, but prohibitively expensive. For me, anyway. So, I had the bright idea of making my own. Then, I forgot about that yarn being my inspiration for making my own, and the fact I can't spend US15/ball. (yardage ain't that great) Anyway, I spun up a couple batches and then decided to kinda make my own "line" of yarn. Great idea, right? Well, John - it ALREADY EXISTS!!! Duh! Remember, jackass??!?! It's called "Aida". Anyway, I'm in love with the fact I can play and make my own colors. I've shown the unspun roving (100% Merino) first, then the results. I love it. Think Zara Plus, Malabrigo, Misti Alpaca....it's squishy squishy squishy, I tell ya. I think if the truth came out, Skein would say that it's because she's been BEGGING for some playmates.

Red_orange_yarn

In_darkness

I tried the red/orange in a couple different light scenerios. These seemed to be the only ones I could get half-assed right. It vibrates, ya know....

Then a couple random things that I love - first, my street I live on....I love it love it love it....It's so random and weird and colorful and trashy and warehouse-y.

Then my brother's baby's blanket. It's quite large, but simple. I'm plugging along on it because the little guy should be here any time. EEEEEEK!
